Caffeine contents beyond human measure!
The tastes in coffee are endless – some prefer it plain, others with sugar or milk. Many prefer the dark, strongly roasted coffee, others the more "blonde" and aromatic. Of course, how "strong" our coffee is is a matter of debate - and when we say strong, we don't mean the taste, but rather the caffeine content!
No matter how "strong" we drink our coffee, it is certain that the caffeine it contains is definitely much less than the recommended daily intake of the substance. In recent years, however, a trend has begun, mainly in the US, of coffees containing excessive amounts of caffeine, usually without any chemical processing. The US, as we know, is the land of excess, so it is not at all strange that such a trend started there.
Reminiscent of the hot sauce companies that discover hot peppers that can only be consumed in relevant challenges by insiders of the genre, these coffee brands are competing to launch the strongest coffee, with contents that would make doctors everywhere... pull them their hair. There are not a few companies that promote products in gyms or in particularly demanding work environments, as a natural means to increase endurance.
Without overlooking the tonic action of coffee, all this comes against the social, "outside heart" and often laid back culture of our favorite drink. It is an oddity, which is certainly interesting, but equally certainly will not replace our favorite daily coffee. But it is worth knowing a little more about this trend that concerns many coffee lovers around the world.
Four brands with... really strong coffee!
Biohazard Coffee: The American company can be proud to have one of the strongest coffees on the market, since laboratory measurements have shown that it contains 928 mg of caffeine, while the recommended daily intake of the substance is about 400 mg. Biohazard Coffee selects single-varietal Robusta (whose origin, for obvious reasons, it does not disclose) which it lightly roasts to keep the caffeine intact. The company itself promotes Biohazard Coffee not so much for its taste or its aroma, but mainly for its incredibly high caffeine content, stating that it is ideal for those who exercise, do demanding tasks or engage in all-night gaming sessions, the experts but they point out that one should not forget that one cup of Biohazard is equal to almost four cups of "normal" coffee.
DeathWish Coffee: DeathWish, also from the USA, is probably the first company to start the "strong" espresso trend and its name speaks for itself. Their blends are naturally based on Robusta, however they are sometimes supplemented with a little Arabica. They emphasize that their coffee has not undergone any chemical treatment, and its high caffeine content is based on the careful selection of varieties and special roasting techniques developed by the company's roasters. They have a high sense of social responsibility, as they follow fair-trade tactics and their blends are released in various forms.
Devil Mountain Coffee: This is where things get dangerously wild, as the caffeine content of the "Black Label" blend reaches four figures, leaving many other coffees touted as "the world's strongest" far behind. The company is very secretive about the composition of the blend and the processing of the grains, while on the site there is a computer that recommends the daily dose that can be consumed without problems. For an ordinary adult, who usually drinks 2-3 coffees a day, this does not exceed 0.2 cups of coffee a day!
Very Strong Coffee: Its simple, simple and understandable name is nothing more than a blend of Robusta beans, with an extremely high caffeine content. The company promotes it, among others, in gyms and sports venues, as a natural tonic, without failing to emphasize that its taste is also excellent.
If you are one of those people who "paint" their coffee with sugar, milk and syrup, a pure Biohazard would definitely not be the best for you. But those of you who love... strong emotions, will you try any of the above "forbidden" coffees?
