by coffees.gr

The birthplace of espresso and the Mecca of coffee, Italy, never stops offering us qualitative choices of authentic espresso. Amigos Caffe offers seven different espresso blends from Trieste, northwest Italy!

Trieste, a significant city for the Italian Coffee Culture

The city of Trieste, on the north-western edge of the Adriatic Sea, has played a key role in the development of Italian coffee culture. The roots of coffee in Trieste go back deep in time, since the city was the largest port of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The imported coffee from every corner of the globe, before it reached the luxury cafes of Vienna and the whole of Central Europe, was unloaded at the port of Trieste. Growing surrounded by coffee for generations, Trieste's inhabitants have developed a special love for coffee beans: even today, per capita consumption of coffee in this Adriatic city is almost double that of other cities in Italy. Having been born and raised in Trieste means that one knows good coffee, as it literally is a part of his identity.

Amigos Caffe, authentic Italian espresso from Trieste

This love for coffee, but also the authentic spirit of Trieste, had as its sole source the Mingardi family when it started Amigos Caffe nearly 40 years ago. Housing their business in a small space of just 40 square meters and using an antique 30kg roasting machine, Mingardi quickly stood out for the quality and authenticity of their blends: the Amigos blends are carefully selected, blended with knowledge and roasted with unique experience, bringing in every cup the authentic Italian Espresso!

As the Trieste port served coffee to the coffee shops of Central Europe, Amigos Coffee set the goal of conquering coffee lovers from the countries of Eastern and Northern Europe, where it ended up holding a significant market share. The Italian coffee culture of Amigos and the authentic flavors of its blends quickly rose high on consumers' preferences, making Amigos a significant coffee power in several northern European and eastern European countries. Amigos Caffe still belongs to the Mingardi family and continues to operate in Trieste, with the factory now expanding to 11,000 square meters and capable of producing 1,600 kg of coffee per hour, while the machines used are of state of the art technology. The Mingardi family has become the "family of coffee", as is the company’s motto.

Six (+one) unique blends for every true espresso lover

Each Amigos blend is made up of carefully selected coffee beans, while the company pays great attention to proper roasting, which enhances the aromas and flavor of the coffee. The blending takes place at the company's premises in Trieste, as well as the roasting, by specialized staff who know the secrets of coffee in depth.

Amigos specialists choose the best Arabica and Robusta beans from all over the world, and mix them carefully, creating blends suitable for every occasion, always with the imperatives of Italian know-how and real Espresso culture.

Amigos coffee is offered in six unique blends that will satisfy the palate of every real coffee lover. All Amigos blends are characterized by a pleasant but intense flavor, distinct aroma and rich cream, each with its own unique character. The mood for experimentation and development has endowed Amigos with special, reserved blends, such as Il Mingardi S, dedicated to company’s founder Severino Mingardi.
