Undoubtedly, apple is the fruit that stays in the flavors of winter. Apple-based sweets are probably the easiest and most delicious way to enjoy the most winter fruit - from simple roasted apples to the all time classic apple pie!

Although it is well-known in Greece, its popularity cannot be compared with that of many western countries. If anyone wanted to codify the apple pie flavors, one would have to mention the baked apple, cinnamon, caramel, whipped cream and possibly some more spices. But what if we could marry these fragrances with coffee?

Apple Coffee is a Christmas special coming from America that successfully combines the aromas of apple pie with strong espresso. Certainly, it is not a coffee for every day, but an interesting recipe in keeping with the festive mood and flavors of Christmas.

Sure, the combination may seem odd in many ways - but one test can convince even the most skeptical, while the easy recipe and the delicious aromas that flood the kitchen leave no room for hesitation.

 

What do we need for Christmas Apple Coffee?

40 grams of baked apple puree

20 ml of caramel syrup

One espresso shot (about 30 ml)

A pinch of cinnamon

100 ml of milk

Whipped Cream


How do we prepare Christmas Apple Coffee?

Grate the baked apple into puree

Heat the puree slightly, adding the caramel syrup and cinnamon

Place the mixture in a large glass beaker and add hot milk, stirring constantly.

Add the espresso

Serve with whipped cream and a little more cinnamon, with a Milkshake straw

 

Tips for a delicious Christmas Apple Coffee

  • The main spice of the apple pie is cinnamon, which should give a more general tone to the drink, but we can also add an idea of ​​ginger or nutmeg, which is also used in apple fries.
  • You can use ready-made special coffee syrup, which is easily dissolved in hot and cold beverages
  • For apple puree, clean two to three apples, and bake in the oven, in the air for a few minutes, until they have softened. Then, carefully clean them from pits and grind them in the cutter
  • Use 100% Arabica, rich in coffee aromas, and if you want a more intense flavor, you can use double espresso
  • This drink does not need sugar, as its sweetness is taken care of by baked apples and caramel syrup.
  • Without adding  coffee, you can make a kid-friendly version of the drink that will excite every youngster.
  • If we want an even bigger burst of flavor, we can add half a shot of whiskey or brandy
  • Beware of calories - this kind of beverage is good for enjoying the festive days, which are more receptive to parasites, and not as a daily habit.
