by coffees.gr

A simple recipe, ideal for beginner confectioners.

Oatmeal is a favorite habit for thousands of people, as it is one of the most given ingredients of a complete breakfast. Rich in fiber and nutrients, oatmeal goes well with fresh milk (like all cereals) but can also be an excellent raw material for delicious cookies, with a very filling texture. Our cookies, of course, could not but taste ... coffee!

Despite the reputation of oats as a healthy food, our cookies are not devoid of calories, since we used butter and sugar in their Friday, but they have a wonderful taste, are filling and are ideal for breakfast, but also for a quick tithe snack for the office or road!

What do we need for oatmeal cookies with coffee?

170 grams of flour for all uses
85 grams of oat flakes
1 tablespoon baking soda
A pinch of salt
A pinch of cinnamon
170 grams of melted butter
50 grams of brown sugar
60 grams of granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tablespoon petimezi
3 tablespoons instant coffee
75 grams of chocolate pieces

How are oatmeal coffee cookies prepared?

In a bowl, mix the flour, oats, baking soda, salt and cinnamon
In another bowl, mix the melted butter, the two sugars, the egg, the petimezi and the coffee
Add the "liquid" mixture (the one with the butter) to the solid (the one with the flour)
Mix well and add the chocolate pieces
We shape our cookies and press them so that they are flat, and we put them in oil paste.
Bake for 15 minutes at 180 degrees in the air, in a preheated oven
Let cool for at least five minutes, after removing the pan
Before serving, wait for them to cool completely

Tips for delicious oatmeal cookies with coffee

For a vegetarian version, replace the butter with 80ml sunflower oil and skip the egg completely.
We can replace the chocolate pieces with chopped nuts.
For a more kid-friendly version of the cookies, we replace the instant coffee with cocoa.
It is important to shape our cookies relatively small, so that when baked they have the desired texture. For these proportions of ingredients, we can create 16-18 cookies.
Let them cool completely before serving, because otherwise they can dissolve in our hands.
The two different sugars add points to the right texture of our cookie.
The recipe is very simple, suitable for beginner confectioners.
It is great for breakfast, accompanied by a hearty cup of coffee or a tonic espresso

Who said coffee is just for drinking? Inside delicious oatmeal cookies, coffee becomes an excellent snack for our daily cravings.
