Four Original Cold Brew Coffee Cocktails!

15/11/2018
by coffees.gr

Undoubtedly, Cold Brew is one of the most popular new trends in coffee in recent years. Although the weather is cooling down, there are ways to enjoy Cold Brew in easy and refreshing cocktails!

There is no coffee lover who has not met at least once the notorious Cold Brew, the trend of coffee that came from America and is based on extracting coffee in cold water instead of hot as we have known so far. Cold Brew is easy to prepare at home, with any blend of coffee and very simple means (you can find all the steps to making Cold Brew here). Cold Brew is famous for its natural sweetness, the absence of bitterness and its pleasant aftertaste, reminiscent of soft drink or light alcohol.

Although it is associated with summer, Cold Brew is the basis for a range of easy cocktails that best marry the aromas and intensity of the alcohol with coffee. We chose four special cocktails based on Cold Brew, which will add another note to home parties, friends nights or simply to our afternoon drink. All cocktails are extraordinarily simple, they do not require a huge cellar or special bartender knowledge and are particularly original, with flavors and fragrances that will impress!

 - Cold Brew Scotch & Peach

20 ml Scotch Whiskey

20 ml Peach Liquer

240 ml Cold Brew

Instructions: Stir, serve in a tall glass, garnish with ice and a slice of orange.

Cold Brew's gentle flavor is enhanced by the classic taste of whiskey, and the whole is pleasing to the peach flavors. Light drink, suitable for closing a dinner.

 - Caribbean to Canada Cold Brew

20 ml Maple Syrup

20 ml Aged Rum

240ml Cold Brew

Instructions: Served in a low, wide glass with minimal ice.

The sweetness of the aged rum intertwines with the winter aromas of maple syrup and gives tension and body to Cold Brew. Absolutely suited for the afternoons of winter, it will excite those who love aged rums.

 - Ginger & Tequila Cold Brew

30 ml Ginger Beer

20 ml White Tequila

240 ml Cold Brew

Instructions: Serve in a margarita glass, after rubbing the rim with brown sugar instead of salt.

The most summerish of all cocktails based on Cold Brew can be as pleasantly enjoyed in the winter. The taste of Tequila is particularly suited to the luscious nature of ginger and the natural sweetness of Cold Brew.

 - Cold Brew & Brandy

40 ml Cold Brew

40 ml brandy

40 ml full fat milk

20 ml glucose sirop with a punch of nutmeg, cinamon and cloves

Instructions: Combine all ingredients in a shaker and beat well. Strain and serve in a cocktail glass.

Brandy and spices enhance the winter character of this cocktail, while its whipped milk gives it a creamy feel that makes it an ideal accompaniment of desserts after a winter Sunday dinner.

It is better to prepare Cold Brew yourself so you can use the coffee you like (prefer an aromatic Arabica blend). If your cellar is not particularly up to date, you can always buy miniature bottles, each of which can usually "give" two cocktails.

If you're surprised by the special flavor combinations that cocktails suggest, maybe it's time to experiment by tasting them! After all, coffee is a field that is especially suitable for tasting acrobatics and experiments. Let's not forget that the very idea of cold extraction seemed strange until Cold Brew came into our lives, gaining more and more popularity. The same can be done, why not, with the cocktails based on Cold Brew! Enjoy responsibly!
