Light Chocolate Mosaic with espresso flavors

by coffees.gr

Enjoy without regrets, with a favorite childhood sweet in an adult version.

Mosaic, salami, "kormos" or just a "fridge sweet", the dessert we present today has many different names, but one thing in common: it is a sweet memory for everyone, a favorite childhood sweet, the dessert we insisted on from our moms and that they had no excuse not to prepare us, since it is literally made in 10 minutes.

We grew up, so what's more logical to combine your favorite children's dessert with a more "adult" habit, adding a little espresso? But because it is summer and we pay attention to our shape (but also our health), the version of the dessert that we present not only has a coffee aroma, but it has no sugar or butter at all, so that we can enjoy it without regrets!

It will not take more than 10 minutes and some very simple ingredients to prepare this delicious dessert, which will awaken our sweetest memories and that goes well with afternoon coffee or the closing of a summer meal, at home or on vacation!

What do you need for an espresso flavored mosaic?

  • 450 digestive cookies
  • 200 gr milk
  • A double espresso (60 ml)
  • 250 γραμμάρια σοκολάτα
  • 1 teasponn vanilla e
  • 2 tablespoons of coffee liquor

Ηοw is the Espresso Mosaic Prepared?

  • Crush the cookies, and soak them lightly in the liqueur
  • Prepare the double espresso
  • On medium heat, heat the milk. Remove from the heat, add the espresso and the petimezi and melt the couverture, stirring.
  • Once the chocolate mixture has cooled, add it to the cookies and stir.
  • With a piece of non-stick paper or oil glue, shape the mixture into a "salami" shape and wrap it well.
  • Put in the freezer for a few hours
  • Store in the freezer or refrigerator

Tips for a perfect Espresso Mosaic

  • Use couverture, which is suitable for confectionery and not simple chocolate, because freezing will not have the right texture. You can use dark chocolate couverture, milk chocolate, or even white chocolate.
  • You can use whatever coffee we want, but it is good to prefer a sweet arabica blend
  • You can replace espresso with instant coffee dissolved in water, but the result will be too strong.
  • Use whatever coffee liqueur you want, such as Kalhua, Tia Maria or even Baileys Irish Cream, while if we don't have it, we can use a little brandy or a little whiskey.
  • You have to wet the cookies to get the aroma of the drink, but not to soak them, otherwise your dessert will be muddy, without the crunchy element of the cookie.
  • This dessert is not suitable for children, as it contains caffeine. However, skipping the coffee and adding 50ml of milk, we make a delicious, kid friendly chocolate dessert, and even without butter and sugar.
  • In the freezer, your dessert will be a little tighter and ideal for summer, in the fridge softer - where you will keep it is clearly a matter of taste

The chocolate-scented chocolate trunk is a sweet "bridge" between carefree childhood and the pleasures of adulthood - and it's best for hot summer afternoons!
