Εξερευνώντας τις ιδιαίτερες γεύσεις το καφέ σε βάθος, με micro-lot κόκκους.

The more one deals with the world of coffee and the more in depth one explores one's favorite beverage, the more terminology one discovers. One of the terminologies that has occupied the "wanted public" of coffee in recent years, is the term "micro-lot".

Intertwined with the infamous "third wave" of coffee, which loves to search for strange origins, sophisticated extracts and has made espresso ... science, Micro-Lot coffee is a term that will occupy us in recent years, as it contains things dealing with world gastronomy, such as traceability, sustainability and exclusive character.

What do we mean by Micro - Lot coffee?

By Micro - Lot, we mean the coffee of increased traceability, which comes from a very specific and well-defined geographical area. Unlike Single Origin coffee, which can come from a country or a province of a particular country, in micro-lot coffees things are much more specific and strictly defined. To qualify as a micro-lot coffee, it must come from a specific plantation, or even from a specific part of the plantation. There are many cases where in some micro-lot coffees the traceability reaches even the trees that gave the coffee cherries! It is also important to note that the Micro-Lot coffees include beans of the same crop, which have been processed with the same way. Many growers choose specific areas of their plantations to experiment with hybrid coffee processing methods (such as anaerobic fermentation or red honey process) or in other cases, they have singled out parts of their production that are distinguished for certain organoleptic characteristics. Trying a sip of coffee that comes from a bag with micro-lot beans, we test the taste and aroma of coffee in a very specific place, with completely distinct characteristics.

What makes a Micro - Lot coffee stand out?

A Micro - Lot coffee has extremely emphasized its organoleptic characteristics and usually has a rich and complex taste, intense aroma, while characteristics such as acidity and the body are also very strong and completely distinct. Still, a micro-lot coffee is almost always of superior quality, as it consists of beans that have received excellent attention at all stages of production, from cultivation to collection and processing.

Also, through micro-lot coffees, overall progress is being made in the coffee industry. Hybrid and experimental processing methods, forgotten coffee varieties, new cultivation methods can be safely tested in micro-lot batches and then tested in a very demanding audience. Experiments like this usually result in discoveries that slowly affect consumer coffee, sooner or later.

Who is Micro - Lot Coffee aimed at?

Micro - Lot coffee is aimed primarily at connoisseurs of espresso and coffee in general, who want to explore the flavors and aromas of coffee in even greater depth and get to know their favorite beverage as well as possible. Still, it is a delicacy delight, a definitely quality coffee that "gives" excellent extracts, that every coffee lover would like to give as a gift to himself a few times a year, in the same way that he would enjoy a rare cheese or an expensive wine . A Micro-Lot coffee is at the same time a gastronomic pleasure, an in-depth analysis of the origins, flavors and aromas of coffee but also a gourmet experience beyond the ordinary, which everyone deserves to taste.
