In the world of coffee, duration in time is of particular importance - and Mokaflor from the heart of Tuscany, Florence, has every reason to celebrate its fiftieth anniversary in the field of quality espresso. Mokaflor: from the center of Florence to cups all over the world

Mokaflor was started in 1950 by Vasco Bernini on a small street in the center of Florence, just behind Piazza Della Signoria. At a time when most coffee grinders focus on blends that have good cream, Bernini is passionate about flavors and aromas: he believes his customers will appreciate the delicious complexity alongside traditional Italian cream. So, not only does it start looking for different varieties of coffee, but it also looks for the right roasting profile for each of them.

In the years that followed, Mokaflor expanded continuously, until in the 1970s it crossed the borders of Tuscany and conquered all of Italy. In 1987, Andrea and Renzo, the sons of Vasco, who died in 1987. Mokaflor began to conquer all of Europe and the world. The company invests not only in logistics, but also in the subsidiary Caffelab, which explores single-variety coffees from around the world, but also in Espresso Academy, a workshop for roasters, blenders, baristas and ordinary lovers of authentic Italian espresso.

Today, with the third generation Bernini in the lead, Mokaflor has a presence in more than 40 countries and celebrated its fiftieth birthday with great success.



Caution and Care from bean to cup

A blend of authentic Italian espresso is a job for strong solvers, but Mokaflor has a remarkable performance, simply applying the same values ​​for half a century: careful selection of raw materials, special importance in roasting, sharing of knowledge.

Mokaflor blends consist of grains from Central American countries such as Mexico and Honduras, from African countries such as Ethiopia and Ivory Coast, from plantations in India and Indonesia, but also from countries with a long tradition in coffee, such as Brazil and Colombia. Mokaflor supports local communities in producing countries and carefully selects the producers with whom it will work, based not only on grain quality but also on the principles of sustainable agriculture.

Roasting coffee has become a science for Mokaflor's special roasters: utilizing years of know-how and employing traditional techniques, they are constantly inventing new ways of roasting, while each variety of coffee is roasted separately, in order to give its taste and aroma to the maximum.

Espresso Academy undertakes to share this knowledge in the community, organizing seminars, tasting evenings and acquaintance with Italian espresso and other activities, aimed at both professionals and amateurs.

 

Meet Mokaflor Espresso Blends!

All the taste and experience of Mokaflor in the authentic Italian espresso is hidden in its five unique blends, which cover every taste and will excite every coffee lover, whatever its taste sensation.

Mokaflor Nero: 100% Arabica blend, with grains from Honduras, Brazil and Ethiopia. Notes of evil, vanilla and tobacco predominate

Mokaflor Oro: 80% Arabica blend, with grains from four countries. It is characterized by rich cream and notes of cocoa and biscuit.

Mokaflor Rossa: 60% Arabica blend, combining grains from Brazil, Ethiopia and Asia. It has a strong body, chocolate and woody notes and a strong aroma.

Mokaflor Blu: 50% Arabica blend, with grains from Brazil and Asia. The notes of bitter chocolate and wood dominate, while it goes perfectly with milk.

Mokaflor Organic: 100% Arabica blend, with exclusively organic coffee beans and notes of vanilla and tobacco.
