New Year's Eve Coffe, as a farewell to 2020

Strong Coffee, Bourbon & Coffee Liqueur in an original Cocktail

The New Year we have in front of us is definitely one of the strangest we have ever experienced. Although the New Year's Eve parties are definitely out of the plan, there is no reason not to spend the last night of the year as beautifully as possible, even in more lonely settings.

Whether at a party, or on New Year's Eve, or snuggling at home with our loved ones, New Year's Eve has έχει overnight! Even if we do not have specific plans, we definitely want to stay awake until the change of time, to make sure that 2020, which has bothered us so much, is now a thing of the past, isn't it?

So logical and next, the cocktail that we suggest to have strong coffee in it. Filter coffee (or for the more demanding, espresso) is mixed with strong bourbon and sweet cocoa liqueur, with the aroma of orange giving the final note.

It is a simple and easy cocktail, which will give us fun (and keep us awake) this strange New Year!

What do we need for the "New Year's Coffee"?

 - 45ml Whiskey or Bourbon
 - 45ml Cocoa Liqueur
 - 45ml Cold Water
 - 120ml Filter Coffee
 - 15ml Syrup
 - Orange Bitters

How do we prepare the "New Year's Coffee"?

 - Prepare the filter coffee, let it come to room temperature
- Beat all our ingredients in an ice shaker
- Strain into a low glass
- Add, if you want, ice and a slice of orange and serve!

Tips for an enjoyable "New Year's Coffee"

 - Instead of filter coffee you can use espresso (ideally, a double espresso for more flavor, instead of a Lungo).  - In this case, you can beat the way you would beat a freddo.
 - Avoid coffees with intense acidity, because they will not go well with the spirits.
 - You can use whatever type of whiskey you want (or have available in your cellar) but the taste profile of Bourbon suits better than Scottish or Irish whiskey.
 - The same goes for the cocoa liqueur youwill use. Only make sure it is quality and with a strong taste.
 - For extra coffee flavor, youcan replace cocoa liqueur with coffee liqueur, but chocolate is a flavor that clearly adds points to our cocktail and it would be good not to miss it.
- Instead of Orange Bitters, you can use a few drops of Holy Lama Spice Drops Orange, which will give a wonderful orange flavor to our drink.
 - Of course, enjoy responsibly, consume in moderation and never drive under the influence of alcohol, to really have a Happy New Year!

The beautiful moments, despite the difficulties, we are often called to make them ourselves - and a New Year's coffee, enhanced with whiskey and liqueur, will give us the taste we need!
