Can camping be combined with delicious and quality coffee?

Camping as a way of holidays has fanatical friends and sworn enemies: while some choose to focus on the lack of amenities, the hassle and the tiredness that often results from camping, whether at sea or in the mountains, others suggest relaxation, contact with nature, the good company and the unique landscapes one knows through camping.

Anyone who loves camping and at the same time loves coffee knows that the biggest problem of camping (free or organized) is not the rough terrain, the shade or the mosquitoes, but ...  coffee! How can we combine our natural and relaxing nature holidays with the coffee we love? We suggest six ways to wake up to the sound of the the waves while having access to quality coffee.

Six ways to enjoy quality coffee at camping

Instant Coffee: Easy & Quick

Although coffee lovers (and espresso lovers in particular) are not known for liking instant coffee, the fact is that the taste will always be the same for holidays and carefree summer times. It's probably the simplest way to enjoy our coffee under the stars, since it only requires water and nothing else. With cold water we can have a delightful, "traditional" frappe in seconds, and with warm water a rich Nes flavor. But even with water at ambient temperature, we can easily and simply have our morning dose of caffeine. For added convenience, we opt for Nescafe in sticks: both the classic Nescafe flavor and the Nescafe Gold in individual portions are a guaranteed pleasure for camping days.

Cowboy Coffee: The Wild West Camping Coffee

Cowboy coffee is rooted in the Wild West era and is the way North American cowboys prepared their breakfast beverage without filters or other equipment. However, a fire or heat source such as a gas stove is required. Heat the water, calculate 2 tablespoons of the well-ground coffee for each mug to be prepared and boil for a while, then allow the mixture to cool. Add an egg white to help the coffee stand sit on the bottom - the usage of egg as a filter was widespread in America, to the point where "Grapes of Wrath" author John Steinbeck claimed "nothing else brings out the taste of coffee so strongly. " It goes without saying that the egg must be fresh.

French Press: A coffee machine in our pocket

French Press, the hand coffee maker, is probably the most underrated coffee maker, but the truth is that with some simple tips, which are easily applicable even in camping conditions, we can have delicious and tasty coffee, like at home. All we need is coarse-grained coffee and hot water and to follow the right steps that will take away the taste of our coffee. The only disadvantage of French Press is its limited capacity, which does not allow us to brew coffee for more people, as well as the potential difficulty of cleaning our cafeteria in the camping.

Glass Pour Over Coffee Maker: Camping Goes Hipster

Following the same philosophy with French Press, but even better: with a pour-over glass coffee maker, coarse coffee and hot water we can brew a filter coffee that will counter the aromatic and tasty of the most hip coffee we've ever visited. Its capacity, ranging from 400ml600ml and 800ml allows us to brew from a cup of coffee to coffee for the whole company. Its only disadvantage is that it is fragile and difficult to pack - however, the incomparable aromas of coffee brewed in a glass Pour Over coffee maker are worth a little 'hassle'.

Moka Pot: Bring the Italian elegance to your tent

The well-known "coffee pot", the Moka Pot or "espresso pot" as we often call it in Greek, is an affordable solution for those who love espresso but do not have access to their espresso maker. It can only work with  a gas stove, usually available at the campsite, and can brew a few minutes of delicious coffee that brings espresso to mind, albeit without its cream and tasty depth. Clearing it at a campsite can be a nuisance, and it usually prepares a few cups of coffee - however, it is extremely durable and packs very easily. With a few simple tips, coffee from a Moka Pot can prove to be very tasty

Handheld Espresso Machine: Quality espresso in seconds

What if we want to enjoy real, Italian espresso, even if we are in a scene under the stars where there is no espresso machine but no electricity? The manual espresso machine without batteries works by multiplying the pressure we exert on a lever, extracting in seconds a real Italian espresso with rich cream and full, delicious taste. It is durable and easy to clean, which makes it ideal for camping, while requiring only espresso coffee and hot water, something that can be easily found in camping conditions as long as there is a gas stove.
