What's the perfect Christmas Coffee?

07/12/2021
by coffees.gr

Christmas wouldn't have their magic without their particular flavors - and this delicious feast could not lack coffee.

But what are the best suggestions for giving Christmas joy the flavors and aromas of coffee that best suit it? We've put together some beautiful suggestions, starting with the magical Christmas morning, wrapping up the gifts, going to the lavish table, and ending up in a hearty afternoon - without forgetting our little friends!

What's the perfect Christmas Coffee?

Για το πρωινό: Καφές φίλτρου, με ή χωρίς μπαχαρικά

Even though we are espresso aficionados, there are times when the filter coffee fits like  a glove, such as when we are at a breakfast table. Opening gifts under the Christmas tree, picking buns and sweets  and waiting for the turkey to roast, the festive atmosphere can be accompanied by a delightful and aromatic filter coffee.

The filter coffee has the advantage that it can be easily prepared in large quantities, so that we are not constantly over the coffee maker, while we can refill our guests' mugs as often as they want - sugar and milk must be added at will. . If we want something more impressive, we may not brew our coffee in a electrical coffee machine, but in a glass Pour Over coffee maker, so we can prepare our breakfast on the breakfast table, stealing our impressions.

If we want aromas to match Christmas, we may already have our own Christmas blend with spices, or look for special recipes that retain the "sharing" philosophy of breakfast: Caffe De Olla from Mexico will make our home smell of strong coffee and cinnamon and bring us the ambience of an open-hearted, Mexican home in our living room, while Caffe Noir will fill our home with the special fragrances of colorful New Orleans.

After lunch: espresso, undoublty!

The Christmas meal is tasty, comforting, full of heat but it's also ... heavy: stuffed turkey, pork, lamb, whatever we choose, it's usually accompanied by cheeses, cold meats, pies, salads and countless other goodies. The coffee we choose to close must be digestible, so go back to the Italian coffee culture and choose, without a doubt, espresso.

If we have an espresso machine with capsules, it may be a good idea to have different options to suit every taste, but if we have a classic espresso machine, then choose a truly fine blend, such as Sant Eustachio or New York Extra with Jamaica Blue Mountain, as Christmas requires a bit of luxury, even in coffee. We can make festive espressos even more digestible and delicious, with a little alcohol, serving traditional Italian espresso corretto (with a dose of grappa) or a Spanish Carajillo with rum or even better brandy.

Late in the afternoon: marrying coffee with alcohol or chocolate

If there is one day when we don't measure calories, this is without a doubt Christmas Day. So as Christmas pardons the tasty excesses, mixing coffee with chocolate or a little alcohol is a great idea.

We can try Café Bicerin, who marry espresso with chocolate according to the Italian tradition, try the Cinematique  "French Connection" with brandy, amaretto and almond, dare an exuberant Black Forest Mocha with whole cherries or sour cherries. an all time classic Irish Coffee with rich cream and strong Irish whiskey. Finally, for the night of the eve or the late night of the same day, a good idea is the Coffee Negronis, the coffee twisted versions of the beloved aperitif, with an extra espresso kick.

Babyccino and chocolate beverages for our little friends!

The protagonists of Christmas days are, of course, children - they illuminate and give special meaning to these beautiful days. Of course, small children should stay away from coffee, but we can make some delicious drinks for them to enjoy the day as much as we do. So we can easily serve them a delicious babyccino, but also a range of delicious chocolate drinks - we said, let's not count calories at Christmas!

Whatever coffee we brew, it is sure to be delicious if we do not have the ones we love - Christmas is all about love. Happy Holidays!
