Two subversive recipes that bring tradition to our cup.

The eternal dilemma of Christmas, from our childhood until today, is one: gingerbread or curabiedes? Whatever European Christmas sweets may come (which are of course delicious and extremely well received) it is a fact that Christmas will always be intertwined with the aromas of butter, almond, cinnamon and flower water. Christmas was, is, and will be a plate full of snowy cookies and syrupy, fragrant honey macaroons.

Can we transfer this magic to our favorite drink? Of course we can! In a culinary experiment, we will try to isolate the main flavors and main aromas of holiday treats and then creatively combine them into a delicious drink, suitable for these beautiful days that we are passing.

As a canvas, we choose espresso, ideally 100% Arabica, sweet and aromatic, without particular acidity, with a chocolate-dry carpathian profile, which can balance the unique aromas and become our favorite coffee for these holidays

What do we need for Espresso Courabié?

A double espresso (70 ml)
70 ml Milk
30 ml cognac
A few drops of floral water
A few grams of butter
A pinch of nutmeg
Icing sugar, ground almond


How do we prepare Espresso Courabié?

Extract the espresso
Heat half of the milk, melt the butter and pour in the flower water and cognac
We incorporate it into the coffee
Beat the other half of the milk into frothy milk
We serve our espresso with foamed milk, sprinkled with powdered sugar and grated almond


What do we need for Espresso Melomakarano?

A double espresso (70 ml)
30 grams of honey
40 ml of milk
Cinnamon
Carnation
20 ml of orange juice or a few drops of orange essential oil
Grated walnut


How do we prepare Espresso Melomakarano?

Extract the espresso
Mix the coffee with the honey until well dissolved, add the spices and orange juice.
Beat the other half of the milk into frothy milk
We serve our espresso with foamed milk, sprinkled with powdered sugar.
