Let's prepare for a summer full of coffee aromas.

One of the protagonists of summer is, without a doubt, ice cream. From the age of innocence, when our daily questions was "how many ice creams" to adulthood, ice cream is a pleasure inextricably linked to the most relaxed and carefree time of the year. But how can we, as coffee lovers, bring this pleasure to our measure?

The taste of coffee ("mocha" ice cream as it is commonly known) is one of the most popular ice cream options of all time - and ice cream is a highly versatile dessert that can be the basis for many delicious experiments. We present 4 + 1 recipes for ice cream with coffee aroma from our archive, for a cool and enjoyable summer!!

4 + 1 Coffee Ice Cream Recipes from Coffees.gr archives!

The easy one: Mocha Fakecream

It could be called "lazy ice cream", as it requires only three ingredients, which we definitely always have in our kitchen, while it does not require any kind of equipment. Taking advantage of the wonderful, creamy texture that bananas get when frozen in the freezer, we can prepare wonderful, creamy ice creams that will convince anyone who doesn't know our "trick" that they are bought from the best patisserie. Praline and coffee will give the necessary aromas, while it is a good solution so that the overly made bananas are not lost, a phenomenon quite common in the summer.

Τhe one to enjoy with company: Coffee popsicles.

Keeping the philosophy of the previous recipe, we suggest another simple dessert with coffee, which does not need the skill of a pastry chef, but which is sure to refresh us on hot afternoons and summer afternoons. Easy coffee sticks only need milk, sugar and coffee and are a smart idea for summer parties or evenings with friends - serving them together with an espresso as an accompaniment, we have an enjoyable combination that will drive any coffee lover crazy.

The Traditional One: Granita di Café, right from the Sicilian Summer

One of the oldest iced coffees ever recorded, as in its original form it was made with snow from the slopes of Mount Etna! Granita De café is a traditional Sicilian recipe that follows the austerity of Italian gastronomy and has been the secret of the Sicilians for years to withstand the hot Mediterranean summer. Many consider it brown, but it's more like a dessert - especially if we follow the traditional serving, which requires a generous dose of sour cream, but also a delicious brioche bun.

The all time classic: Espresso Ice Cream

A classic, but easy recipe that will make us white-faced without much effort. Making a classic "base" of ice cream, with milk, sour cream, sugar and eggs, our dessert is flavored with espresso, acquiring an intoxicating taste and wonderful aroma. If we have an ice cream machine, Friday is a real toy, but it is not difficult to achieve the favorite texture of ice cream without specialized equipment, with a little more effort. Espresso ice cream is the perfect ice cream for serving an Italian espresso affogato!

The one from the 80ies: Café Helado from Chile

The fifth recipe is not an ice cream recipe, but a clever concept that combines strong coffee with refreshing ice cream, in a delicious drink suitable for summer. Although our recipe comes from Chile, in which Helado coffee is considered a specialty, it is quite reminiscent of our 80s drink, which is none other than the frappe with ice cream, which the "older" ones definitely remember with nostalgia.
