Survival Guide: What coffee do we drink at Easter?

18/04/2022
by coffees.gr

What coffees will we make for a day full of food, drink, music and dancing;

Easter is officially at the gates - and no matter how (and) this year we celebrate it differently and more "limitedly", it should not affect our mood, the observance of customs, or the splendor of the day. Together with our own people, we can bake, in the oven or on the spit, eat our appetizers, dance and sing and have a wonderful day.

Too much food, alcohol, dancing and everything included in Easter bring ... fatigue, so it is certain that we need a strong fuel, which is none other than coffee! But what coffee do we drink on a day full of (fatty) food, wine and feasting? We have prepared a small "survival guide" for Easter, full of delicious suggestions that smell like good coffee.

Survival Guide: What coffee do we drink at Easter?

For breakfast: Greek Coffee

It may be considered by many to be something outdated, but it is a fact that Greek coffee makes a strong comeback, especially at young ages. Its taste is without a doubt nostalgic, combined with favorite memories of past times, and its strong connection with tradition makes it ideal for the breakfast of Lambri. It is perfectly combined with the Easter cookies and the tsoureki, sweets that we all enjoy on Easter morning, alone or with our loved ones. Preparing for each attendee a fragrant Greek coffee, just as we know how he prefers it, we lay the foundation for a beautiful, family day.

Suggested Blends: Loumidis Roasteries Νο32, Loumidis Roasteries Aroma

While  the lamb is cooked: Freddo Espresso or Frapes

The preparation of the Easter meal is more beautiful, casual and cheerful than the table itself! The lamb swirls on the spit, the music has started to play, snacks come and go, the first cutlets are cut and the most daring ones have already started the beers or the sea bream. Many, and certainly roasters, prefer a strong coffee, which will stimulate them and bring them together in their work. It goes without saying that the coffee of the roaster or the caretaker of the fire must be iced. For many years, frappe was almost synonymous with this beautiful process, but tastes change, and Freddo Espresso, delicious, cold and strong, but lighter than frappe, can replace it worthily. Even if we bake our lamb in the oven with a few good ones, an iced coffee while the snacks are being cooked is a must.

Suggested Blends: Cosmai Caffe Prestige, Garibaldi Gusto Dolce, Lavazza Gold Selection

After the meal: Espresso

As delicious as the lilac food is, the indisputable fact is that it is ... heavy! Lamb, kokoretsi, appetizers, boiled eggs - and on the other hand, sweets that are really a party of calories and fats, such as galaktoboureko, form a combination that is really unbearable. What we need after such a fuss is a digestive coffee, with a strong taste, that will counteract the oiliness we feel in our mouth. This is none other than espresso, single or double, ideally plain, without a trace of milk of course. It is better to choose a 100% Arabica blend, with acidity and delicate taste that will make it even more suitable for the occasion, but also that most associates will like.

Suggested Blends: Epos Caffe Zeus, Amigos 7 Origini, Lavazza Tierra Colombia

For the afternoon: Espresso Spritz, cool and refreshing

It is not uncommon for the Easter party to last until late in the afternoon, with conversation, music and snacking. Even if we celebrate more limited and homely this year, we can enjoy the moments of relaxation with our loved ones, as long as it lasts. But what do we drink? An Espresso Spritz combines espresso, which is necessary to stimulate and give us strength, with Campari and Tonic, which have digestive action. Prepare espresso spritz for everyone as a surprise, individually or in a jug - they are sure to love it.

Suggested Blends: Passalaqua Cremador, Segafredo Mild

Coffee accompanies us daily, in sorrows and joys, at work and on vacation, when we are alone or when we are with our friends. Of course, he could not miss such a beautiful day. Happy Easter!
