5 + 1 coffee for autumn and winter days from coffees.gr archives

Coffee is adapted to us, but also to the weather. We welcome autumn and winter with six coffee recipes suitable for cloudy and low temperatures.

What we call "autumnal" or "winter" coffee is not just about the temperature of the beverage, though it goes without saying that this type of coffee is, of course, hot. It has more to do with what global gastronomy calls 'comfort': simple and easy recipes that can be prepared at home and bring a sense of sweetness and warmth, either because of the flavors and aromas they carry, or because of the delicious memories they bring.

In this sense, our specialty of autumn and winter coffees could well be called "the most comfort coffees ever imagined". It's coffees designed for a rainy Sunday, hanging out with a book we love or with a few episodes of our favorite TV series - for those days that either alone or with friends, all we need is a cozy sofa, some treats, a warm  blanket and, of course, a mug of coffee with special, pleasant and soothing aromas. Winter Sundays should be delicious!

Caffe De Ola: Strong filter coffee combines the distinct aromas of cinnamon, anise and clove, while sugar and orange complement the palette in the best way. Caffe de Ola comes from far away Mexico and in Spanish means 'Coffee in Clay' - it delivers in a few sips all the light-hearted character of a cheerful Mexican home.

Irish CoffeeDiscover the authentic recipe of one of the most popular coffees around the world. Irish Coffee combines filter coffee with (of course, Irish) whiskey and is crowned with fresh, whole cream. It is so popular that there is a special glass for serving - the best for a cold afternoon!

Café Con Miel: The combination of coffee and honey comes from Spain, a specialty that has long been the traditional closure for family-style Sunday meals throughout Spain. The sweetness of the honey and the spicy touch of the spices will make your guests ask for "Uno mas, por favor"! Find the recipe here.

Maple LatteHead to America for a coffee that perfectly accompanies a rich and hearty breakfast, as it should be in the mornings of winter weekends. The maple syrup gives the coffee the necessary tasty kick and will make you look forward to the pancakes that will soon come out of the pan.

Pumpkin Spice Latte: Stay in the US and try the true American Autumn Festive Taste! Pumpkin Spice Latte has "autumnal" spices, such as ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg and, of course, pumpkin, the most seasoned vegetable of the year.

Morrocan Spiced Coffee: Back to the roots of coffee, with a recipe from Morocco. Not one, not two, but seven spices are added to the coffee and make the kitchen and lounge smell like an oriental bazaar until the coffee is ready - do you think anything better as the rain falls outside?

In Greece we may prefer summer because of temperament, but autumn and winter have their magic. The next hazy Sunday, instead of falling into depression, listen to calm music, lower the lights, slip on the couch and let the house be flooded with the scents of a strong, aromatic coffee.
